| Justification: Kalanchoe montana has an estimated extent of occurrence of 16, 300.429 km2, but apart from one record, the population falls within a much smaller area. The area of occupancy is 36 km2. At the time of this assessment, there is no information on threats to its habitat. Based on this, it has been assessed as Least Concern. Date last seen: 2023 | |

| Habitat and Ecology | |
|---|---|
| Habitat and Ecology: | This species has been found growing on shallow soils amongst rocks, usually on hilltops. The vegetation type for the Eswatini records is KaNgwane Montane Grassland (Gm16), and in South Africa, Legogote Sour Bushveld (SVI9) and Central Sandy Bushveld (SVcb12) (Mucina et. al. 2018). |

| Threats | |
|---|---|
| Major Threat(s): | Within Eswatini, the rocky hilltop habitats are subject to heavy grazing and burning, but still provide appropriate habitats for this species. |
